Age 92, peacefully passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior on December 4, 2022. She was born on July 11, 1930, the daughter of the late Arie and Gertrude (Schrier) Roskam. Marge was a kind, gentle and loving person whose faith served as the foundation of her life. Her home and heart were always open to those in need. Her giving nature would lead to a lifetime career in nursing. In 1951 she graduated from Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, IL with her nursing degree. She returned to Kalamazoo and began working as an RN at Bronson Hospital, Dr. Kavanaugh’s office and later did private duty nursing. When not working Marge enjoyed reading, playing the piano and rarely missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was a lifelong Detroit Tiger fan. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her delicious potato salad. Above all Marge loved the Lord, her family and her church. She was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church and more recently of Berean Baptist Church where her warm smile and presence will be missed in the pew. To know Marge was to love her and she will be missed. On February 6, 1953, she married her loving husband, Robert Taylor who preceded her in passing in 2007. She was also preceded in passing by a brother, Robert Roskam; brothers-in-law, Dean Short, Dick Kievit, Paul Pollock; sisters-in-law, Betty Roskam and Joan Kievit. Marge leaves to cherish her memory five children, Teri (Chuck) Rawsthorne, Jeff (Maurine) Taylor, Brad (Melissa) Taylor, Scott (Cindy) Taylor, Susan (Jerry) Canales; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family.
