In accordance with the wishes of the family, cremation will take place and a private memorial event will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make a lasting gift in memory of Mary Ann are asked to make donations to Residential Opportunities, Inc. (ROI) of Kalamazoo, Michigan, c/o the funeral home. R.O.I. provided Mary Ann and our whole family with such great care.

Mary Ann Fleck died at Advantage Living Center in Battle Creek, MI on Friday morning, January 10, 2020 of complications from dementia. Mary Ann was born on May 1, 1964, the second of six children born to Clinton and Helen (Thorpe) Fleck. Mary Ann, born with Down Syndrome, left a legacy by teaching her family a lot about what it means to be tolerant and accepting of all. She will be remembered with love. Mary Ann worked for several years at M.R.C. Industries and made many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Mary Fleck and Herbert and Anna May Thorpe, her Aunt Marcelline Fleck, her uncles, Lawrence Fleck and Tim Bloom, as well as her cousin, Tom Fleck. Mary Ann was also preceded by her very special friend, Keith Radcliff. She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Clinton and Helen Fleck of Scotts, Michigan, her siblings Amy (Steve) Snow, Elaine Fleck, Clint Jr. (Cyndi) Fleck, Larry (Kris) Fleck, and Susan (Jeff Guy) Woodin; nieces and nephews Mary (Adam) Acosta, Zach (Alex VanderVeen) Snow, Maia and Lindsay Fleck, Tyler, Jonah, Emma, and Grace Fleck, and Jeffrey Woodin; great nephew and niece Isaiah and Emilia Acosta; many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many of Mary Ann’s friends and helpers at Residential Opportunities, Inc., where she lived for over 25 years.
