Age 80, of Portage passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. Mary was born in Grand Rapids, MI, on July 10, 1939, the daughter of James and Helen (Hill) Evans. On June 20, 1959, she married Clair Allen Marr who preceded her in death on September 4, 2019. Mary enjoyed working as a textile artist. She was gifted in weaving, needlepoint and knitting. She was also a very fine seamstress. With her artistic skill, Mary also made greeting cards. Her friends and family will cherish the hand-made cards she made for them. Throughout her entire life she loved animals, especially horses, dogs and cats. More than anything Mary was a devoted wife and mother. Her family meant everything to her and they will miss her kind and loving spirit. Mary is survived by her children, Minda (Steve) Macias of McKinney, TX, LeAnna (Richard Stirba) Marr of Washington, DC, Clair A. (Kathryn) Marr II of Climax; grandchildren, Alex Macias, Randy Marr, Michael Marr and Emily Marr; siblings, Max (Sarah) Evans, James (Nancy (Evans), Dena Newkirk and Chuck Newkirk; a brother in law, Max Cooper; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents.
