The family is planning a Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 4th between 11:00-2:00 at the Paw Paw Fire Station 832 S. Gremps St. Paw Paw, MI 49079. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paw Paw Fire Fighters Association or the American Legion Post 68, in c/o the funeral home.

Age 77, passed away Friday night, May 12, 2023. Bud was born in Kalamazoo, on October 5, 1945, the son of Harmon Louis and Mary Jane (Conklin) Johnson. On October 16, 1981, he married Kathleen Fisk Stenger who survives him. Bud proudly served his nation in the United States Navy. Bud was a member since 1971 of the Paw Paw Volunteer Fire Department where he served as a fire fighter, and as Chief from 1981-1983. In his work as a volunteer he helped in development of the new Paw Paw Fire Station. He was also responsible for the restoration of the Paw Paw Ole’ No. 3 fire engine. He loved collecting anything diecast, such as cars, tractors, etc. He loved riding around the neighborhood in his fire engine red golf cart. Bud loved music, loved playing the drums and singing karaoke. Bud loved traveling. He and Kathleen enjoyed cruises camping and taking road trips. He was a dedicated family man. He loved his family and they loved him. Besides his wife, Bud is survived by his children, Jason Johnson of Paw Paw, Jennifer (Winston) Seals of Paw Paw, Kasey (Paul) Huggler of Kalamazoo, Amy (Max) Beers of Maui, Hawaii; grandchildren, Dylan, Hailey, Amanda, Justin, Taylor, Giovanna; a niece and a nephew; and countless friends. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert Johnson.
