In accordance with his wish cremation will take place, a memorial service to honor his life will be held at a later date and he will be interred with family at Portage Central Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the LACC (Lakes Area Conservation Club) or Centrica Care Hospice, c/o the funeral home.

Menno “Roger” Kreissl age 87, passed away at his home on March 4, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Chicago, IL, on October 25, 1935, the son of the late Hans Kreissl and Helen (Kreissl) Hoppin. Roger was a kind, loving and dedicated, husband, uncle, coworker and friend. In 1953, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served our country with honor until being discharged in 1956. On September 28, 1968, he married the love of his life Carol J. (Miles) Kreissl who survives. Together they made their home in Kalamazoo (Pavilion Township), where Roger took a position as a Public Safety Officer with the City of Kalamazoo. He would serve our community for more than twenty-five years. When not working, he loved spending time in his woodshop where his gift for detail and craftsmanship shined. He was an avid sportsman who loved to shoot trap. He was a member of the Lakes Area Conservation Club and participated in several national trap events. He loved his nieces, nephews and special friends dearly and he was always there when needed.  Roger’s smile, laughter and presence will be missed by all who loved him. He was also preceded in passing by two siblings, Robert Kreissl and Barbara Dinges.
