Michael Odenwald Sr., age 71, of Kalamazoo, MI, passed away at Centrica Rose Arbor Place on May 10, 2026. He was born in Texas on October 8, 1954, the son of the late Edward and Betty (Melnick) Odenwald. Raised in Battle Creek, MI, Michael would remain a lifetime resident of Southwest Michigan. He was a kind, loving and involved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked hard for more than forty years as a truck driver. When not working he found peace and rejuvenation in nature, and loved fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed bike trips on his Harley Davidson. Above all Michael loved his family and his friends. His smile and laughter will be missed by all who knew him and he leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. In 1977, he married the love of his life, Denise (Fields) Odenwald who survives. He is also survived by five children, Angel (Eric) McCullough, Michael Odenwald Jr., Grace (Jeremy) King, Teresa (Edward) Smutny, Ross “Cody” Odenwald; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Debbie (Eugene) Stansberry; a special niece, Amanda West; other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in passing by many siblings.
