MERCHANT, Mildred “Mitzi”
Kalamazoo
August 31, 1952 – January 30, 2024
On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, Mitzi – beloved mother, sister, wife and friend, passed away. She was 71 years of age. Although she moved around in her younger years to far off places like Florida and Montana, Mitzi’s heart was always back home in Kalamazoo, Michigan with family and friends where she remained to her final days. Mitzi enjoyed her early years working at Bell Telephone. She was also a cook in many restaurants over the years.

Her passion was people, and her joy was sharing her special wit, humor and laughter. Anyone who had the honor of knowing her, knew Mitzi had a heart of gold. She was the first to help when someone was in need, regardless of her own situation. Mitzi showed the world through her countless acts, that it wasn’t about money, but truly about love, laughter and sincerity that makes life worth living. She looked forward to visits with friends or just hanging out, “usually with a diet Dr. Pepper in hand” sharing stories or telling jokes. Her other joys where watching her favorite shows, such as NASCAR, NFL and Wheel of Fortune, along with a few others to pass the time.

Mitzi is survived by so many loving family members and trying to avoid bearing the struggle to list them all without providing an entire biblical chapter, we will conclude to say you know who you are and that you all where truly loved.

Mitzi left us too soon, but with a treasure of fond memories and an abundance of love in our hearts. We will all miss her dearly!
