A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St. Kalamazoo. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m. Noon. Memorial Contributions may be made to Elara Caring Hospice Foundation. The family wishes to thank the amazing and loving staff of Elara Hospice for Nancy’s last month of life.

Nancy I. Zylla (formerly known as Nancy Stone) age 90 of Kalamazoo and Mission, TX, passed away peacefully at home early Tuesday morning, April 21, 2026. Nancy was born at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo on August 14, 1935, the daughter of John Louis and Marion Etheleen (Rosenberger) Saville. Nancy and her first husband Richard Lee Stone raised their family in Portage until 1963 when they moved to the Village of Schoolcraft. Nancy was a stay-at-home mom until 1984, when she went to work for Krum Hallam Chevrolet in Vicksburg. In 1993, she became a winter Texan, choosing to stay down there the year around in 2005. Shortly after this, she met her late husband Joseph T. Zylla. Nancy liked to tell the story how she married the boy next door and Joe married the gal from Kalamazoo. In 2024, due to health issues she moved back to Kalamazoo to be with family. Nancy is survived by her children, Janee Stone of Coldwater, Linda Stone Bowers of Kalamazoo, Richard T. Stone of Vicksburg, Elizabeth (James) Sorko-Ram of Kalamazoo; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Zylla; sister, Joan Gilkison; brother, Joseph Michael Thorpe; three nephews.
