Natalie R. Yeager (Beers) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, age 92, passed away in Kalamazoo on April 14, 2026. She was born in Sturgis, Michigan to Ray and Vivian Beers in 1933. Natalie graduated from Grand Rapids Central High School in 1951. She attended Michigan State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics, Home Furnishings and Related Arts. She was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority where she made many lifelong friends. In 1955, she married Darrell Yeager. They enjoyed 68 years together before his death in 2023. They loved dancing, socializing with friends, and singing in the church choir. Natalie worked for Wurzburg's department store as an interior designer while Darrell was serving in the army for a year in Korea. Most of her life she was a homemaker raising three children. She was a kind, caring mother. She supported and attended her kid's many sporting events, dance recitals and plays. Later in life she did the same for her many grandkids and great-grandkids. Natalie was an avid organizer and list maker. She had lists to keep track of her lists. She had the amazing ability to utilize every writable space on a piece of paper with perfect, nearly microscopic writing. She could spend hours finding the perfect gift, pick out the only flawless shirt in a rack of clothes, and make sure every napkin matched at family gatherings. She was also a good sport about being teased about her supernatural talents, merely sticking her tongue out at the heckler (usually Darrell). No one ever went hungry or thirsty, unwelcomed or unloved in her presence. Natalie is survived by her brother James Beers, two sons Dane (Nancy Carter) and Dorne (Shelley Herring), daughter Dara (Dan Novak), eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The family extends special thanks to the care team at CorsoCare Hospice and CorsoCare Services for taking great care of Natalie during her final months.
