In accordance with her wish cremation will take place and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice, c/o the funeral home.

Age 78, passed away at Alamo Nursing Home on March 26, 2020, with loved ones at her side. She was born in Centerline, MI, the daughter of the late William and Rose (DeCoste) O’Connell. Nellie was a bright student who graduated from Saint Clemens Catholic High School, Class of 1959. She went on to become a Registered Nurse. She worked hard serving those in need at the hospital until her retirement. When not working she enjoyed playing solitaire, spending time with family and friends and volunteered at the polls during elections. She was also a member of the Atlanta Eagles Club in Atlanta, MI. Nellie was a loving woman who will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Daniel (Peggy) LeDuc, Kathryn LeDuc, Matthew LeDuc, Tina (Robert) Wyatt; three step-children, Ed (Julie) Cornell, Kelly (Everett) Collins, Karry Krueger; several grandchildren, Jeff, Justin, Bree, Zack, Kenny, Heather, Corey, Jason, Samantha, Chuck, Katie Rose, Brent, Delanie, Bonnie, Sierra, Christie, Jason, Jennifer, Brittany, Nick, Chad, Katy, McKayla, Tallon; many great-grandchildren; five siblings, Maggie (Tom) Grebinski, Mary Rotarius, Patrick O’Connell, Michael (Johnnie) O’Connell, Edna (Joe) Eckenswiller; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in passing by three children, William LeDuc, Andrew LeDuc and Helene Niewiadomski; two grandchildren, Justin and Jonathan Cornell; two siblings, Ralph O’Connell, Blanche Gohr.
