Friends will be received 12 pm to 12:30 pm Monday October 6, 2025 at Temple Baptist Church 3706 Mt. Olivet Rd Kalamazoo, MI 49004 where services will follow at 12:30 pm. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.

Age 85 of Kalamazoo passed away Tuesday September 30, 2025 at home. Nila was born February 21, 1940 in Modoc, Indiana. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, playing the piano and organ. On March 6, 1977 in Modoc, IN Nila was united in marriage to Daniel L. Mize, Sr. who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Sherimae Mize; brother Larry Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Drew Scott; sister, Sharon Alice Scott.
