Age 88, passed away shortly afternoon on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Oma was born in Centreville, MI, on November 18, 1935, the daughter of Carl and Emma (Schultz) Wahl. On October 15, 1955, she married James Augustus Walker, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2019. Oma was a familiar face to many long-time Kalamazoo residents as a friendly salesclerk at Gilmore’s Department Store. She loved to travel and was an avid golfer. Nothing was more important to her than her family. She loved them all and was referred to by her great grandchildren as Ol’Grandma. Oma is survived by her children, Carl Walker, George (Katherine) Walker, Kathe (Dale) Burnham, Mary (James) Williams, James Walker, Jr., Richard (Laura) Walker; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. Besides her husband, Oma was preceded in death by her parents.
