Orianne helped me through an incredibly tough stage in my life just over a decade ago. I recently thought of reaching out to her and thanking her for everything she helped me with and was surprised to find this obituary. I never knew anything of her personal life, as she was my counselor, but I can relate to the brightness and the positivity she radiated in so many moments. Orianne helped me feel heard for the first time in a long time. She will stick with me forever, as she helped give me the skills to cope with life. I am so grateful.

I worked with Orianne many years ago at DeLano Clinic Shaffer and remember the fun times shared, her sense of humor and outlook on life were bright. Remembering years ago, when she Pam and a group of their close friends invited Rene and I to come rock climbing downtown Kalamazoo, we all had the time of our lives, laughing at ourselves, and learning how to climb. What a great group of people you surround yourself with. My sincere condolences to Pam, Shannon and all of Orianne's family. Rest in Peace my friend, you will be missed.

I worked with Orianne at Delano Clinic several years ago. I remember her radiant smile, warmth and great sense of humor. She was respected and loved by everyone who knew her. RIP my friend.

I remember the first time I met Orianne at WMU housing (late 80’s or very early 90’s)? Pam and I went over to her apartment and I remember marveling at how organized she kept everything. (A little different from “the pit”?) We took great delight in teasing Orianne by pushing one book or CD back one centimeter from where they stood, ruler-straight, at the edge of her bookshelves. Her bathroom had manicure tools lined as if ready for surgery (we moved them!) She tolerated us, or more exactly me. What a great sense of humor she possessed..I can’t ever remember her not smiling!?? When I think of her, I can’t help but see her toothy smirk, eyes twinkling as she took in everything around her. She was an incredibly kind, smart and quick witted woman..and a perfect match for PK. She fought this disease and marched on deeper into battle when most would have given up. Did I mention her strength? God has a special place for Orianne in Heaven! We can breathe a sigh knowing she has won the war and is finally at peace. Sending so much love to Pam, Shannon, Zion, and Orianne’s family and friends. Jeff, Callie, Cianne and Truman Schipper
