Age 60, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.  Pam was born in Kalamazoo on June 20, 1960, the daughter of Frank and Estelle (Brylowski) Allen. Pam was a 1978 Kalamazoo Central graduate and a standout track and cross-country runner for the Maroon Giants.   She married Joel Sokolowski on September 11, 1982 and their 37-year marriage was full of life and love. Throughout her life, Pam enjoyed many passions and hobbies such as snow skiing, boating, playing first base in softball, motorcycle riding, scuba diving, travel and gardening.  Pam had an adventurous spirit and never sat back and let life pass her by.   She was the most special of friends to so many who loved her. Pam had a love for roses, and her spectacular rose garden wowed everyone who visited.  She was a 20-year member of the Kalamazoo Rose Society, hosting their annual fundraiser and entering her best exhibits in their annual show, hoping for that Queen of Show award. Pam was the owner of Enhanced Glass and glass etching was an outlet for her artistic and creative abilities.  Art was a special pleasure and Pam and her close friends enjoyed visiting Art Prize each year. Hosting events and gatherings was the most special of Pam’s talents.  So many family and friends will cherish the memories made at the parties she organized – 4th of July parties, pumpkin carving events, weddings, funerals and so many others.  Pam was a cook extraordinaire and no recipe or number of people to cook for daunted her.  Her motto seemed to be the more the merrier and the bigger the better.  Her generosity was boundless and always given from the heart. Pam is survived by her husband Joel and her brother Frank Allen III.
