My Dad and I met Pat and her daughter Karen at the assisted living where he lived. She always spoke so wonderfully with us. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. Heaven has gained a special angel.

So sorry to learn of Pat's passing. I can't begin to count the many times my husband, Larry and I enjoyed Pat's company. She had a soft way of speaking, but the content of the conversation was always stimulating. Thinking of you Kathy, Karen and Michael at this sad time.

I first met Pat in 1970 when I was hired into the College of General Studies. Pat, together with Nita Hardie and Barbara Havira, was a dedicated feminist who brought major changes to WMU - and at the same time they were gracious to me as they helped me learn how to be a colleague. Pat often spoke quietly and politely, but that didn't lessen the force of her arguments. I thought that she was fierce when advocating a position that she believed in. I'm so glad that she took me into her orbit for 50 years.

I was just a kid myself when Mrs. Klein hired my father, Gordon McIntyre to give Karen & Kathy riding lessons. One of the reasons I hung around the lessons was to listen to the stories Mrs. Klein would tell - of travel or pets....I remember thinking what a cool lady she was. I wish Peace and good thoughts to the family.

A wonderful women. She gave so much to Western Michigan University and to the Kalamazoo Community. Her gift to me was a wonderful dog -- Sheba - that was my canine companion for many years. May she rest in peace.
