In accordance with his wish, cremation will take place and the family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o the funeral home.

Patrick Lee Buchanan, age 70, passed away at Rose Arbor Centrica Care, on March 14, 2026. He was born at Camp Zama, Japan, on April 17, 1955, the son of the late Donal and Nancy (Spence) Buchanan. His family left Japan in early 1958 and settled in Vienna, Virginia. Patrick would eventually move to Galesburg, Michigan. Patrick was kind, loving and generous. He had a fantastic sense of humor, and his smile and laughter always brightened the days of those around him. He had many gifts which he shared and was constantly tinkering with this or that. His creative side shown through in many projects and activities. He was an avid reader and could often be found with book in hand. He loved his hometown of Galesburg and could always be depended on to help when needed. He was proud of his Scottish heritage and enjoyed learning about the history of his ancestry. Above all Patrick loved his family and was especially proud to be a father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Patick will be missed and remembered by all who loved him. He is survived by three children, Nancy and Kristy Buchanan and Ryan Miller; grandchildren, Deoneis Riddle, Isaiah Erskine, Michael Duncan, Avery Hayward, Evan Hayward; great-granddaughter, Madelynn Duncan; brother, Martin Buchanan; stepmother, Ann Buchanan; many extended family and friends.
