Age 84, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 following a lengthy illness. He was born in Kalamazoo, on May 06, 1937, the son of Gordon and Dorothy (Benhoof) Montz, Sr. As a young man, Paul had a fondness for old cars and trains, which he continued to be fascinated with during his adult life, as well. Paul carried no judgement of his fellow man. He loved helping others in their own endeavors, never asking for anything in return. He married the former Wanda Eva Struble in July, 1967 and together, they enjoyed nearly 54 years of marriage. Paul began his employment at Western Michigan University as a young man and retired from Western after 30 years of dedicated service in the maintenance and grounds department. Most of all, Paul held great love for his family, especially his daughters, Jennifer and Sarah, whom will miss him dearly. Paul was known for his loyalty to others, and his love of his nieces, nephews, friends and family.  He never shied away from helping those that needed a hand.  He was a true servant of the Lord on many levels. Due to declining health, Paul spent the last twelve years of his life being taken care of by the caring staff at Medilodge of Kalamazoo.  He was preceded in death by his own parents and other family members, including sisters and brothers.  He leaves behind his cherished wife Wanda Montz of Schoolcraft, daughter Sarah Montz, also of Schoolcraft, and daughter Jennifer (Edward) Hayes of Boulder, Colorado. He will always live in their hearts and memories.
