Age 57, passed away at his home on June 14, 2020, after a lengthy illness. Paul was born September 5, 1962, exactly one week after his father, John Paul Phillips died unexpectedly. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Francis Phillips and his grandparents, Henry and Francis Potts and Steven and Julia Phillips. Paul graduated from Loy Norrix High School in 1981. He made his living as a car detailer working at Deal’s Unlimited, Great Lakes Chemical and Metro Toyota. Paul loved spending time with his family and friends; especially his grandchildren, Sayla Phillips, Autumn Phillips, Jessie and Jacob Bennett and Cassey Bennett. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, boating, and snowmobiling in U.P. with his long-time friend, Alex. Paul was a friend to all and was at his best when his help was sought to fix a mechanical machine. If something broke, Paul was the first person you would call. There was not much he could not fix. He had a great sense of humor, a big heart and was always willing to help those who asked. He volunteered at the local animal shelter and donated his time building sets at community theaters. Paul is survived by his son, Brandon (Lacey) Phillips; stepdaughter, Amanda Bennett; five grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Jerry) Thompson and Ginger Phillips; brother, John (Chris) Phillips; nephews; Brian (Melissa) Thompson, John (Angel) Phillips, Christopher Phillips, Ali Sharief and Adam Sharief and niece, Sufia (CJ Mizikar) Sharief.
