Age 49, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022 with his family by his side. Raul was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on June 1, 1973. On May 20, 2021, he married Mary Velez, who survives. Raul is also survived by his sons, Delmarco and Jose DeLeon; grandchildren, Delmarco, Nolan, Jenesis, De’Aarie and Ky’meir; parents, Margaret and Simon Magallon; siblings, Daniel (Alisha) DeAnda, Simona (Candice) Magallon and Jesus Magallon; several nieces and nephews and many cousins. “Rudogg” as he was better known to his friends and family, left a great impact on his community through his giving heart and desire to help others. He could often be found volunteering, coaching and umping softball and mentoring young Hispanic children. In addition to his family members, Raul also leaves behind many close friends who he considered his brothers. He also helped found and was active in Despierta Kalamazoo. Cremation will take place and a service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Kalamazoo Ballroom Academy, 2020 Fulford St., Kalamazoo, MI 49001. A repass luncheon will follow at Larry’s Bar & Grill at 1233 Branch St., Kalamazoo, MI 49001.
