Age 61, passed away at his home in Battle Creek on September 13, 2025. He was born in Battle Creek, MI, the son of the late William (Ruth) and Marjorie (Jex) Burns. Ray graduated from Climax High School, Class of 1982. He had a quiet and reserved personality and was a joy to know. He loved Michigan and enjoyed spending summer days in his garden, being outdoors hunting and fishing. Ray did his best to love those around him and will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering integrity, his love for the Lord and his family. His smile, laughter and wisdom will be missed by all who loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Jason (Toniesha) Burns; grandchildren, A’aliyah and Kayliona Burns; siblings, David (Linda) Burns, Jaimie (Cathy) Beard, Sharon Burns-Tonge, Scott Burns, David S. Burns, Jim (Lisa) Burns; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Joe and sister, Laura Beard.
