 Age 88, passed away at home with family by his side on Friday, December 17, 2021. Richard was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on July 20, 1933, the son of the late Gifford and Frances (Nibblett) Gerould. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Richard was a carpet installer for many years and retired from the Upjohn Company. He was often known as the community and family handyman. Richard was a man of strong faith. Besides his family, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Gerould. On October 26, 1986, he was united in marriage to Anna M. (Brown) Gerould, who survives. Richard is also survived by his children, Rodney Gerould, Richard Gerould, Stephanie (David) Dorner, Monica (Jared Dixon) Brigance-Dixon and Troy (Kayla) Brigance; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, David (Nancy) Gerould; sister, Merrilee Gerould; several nieces, nephews and in-laws; and his canine companion, Olive. A memorial service to celebrate Richard’s life will take place on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home. A private committal service with full military honors will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue Project, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Honor Flight Network.
