Age 63, passed away suddenly on September 5, 2017. Bob was born in Detroit, Michigan, on April 16, 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Eyrcel and six brothers, Jerry Shelley, Delbert Shelley, Elmer “Bud” Shelley, Howard “Al” Shelley, Kenneth Shelley and Eugene Shelley. He is survived by a brother, Jim Carr; many nieces, nephews and extended family, loved ones and friends. Having Down Syndrome, Bob had difficulty with his speech, but could communicate his wants and needs quite readily. He never minded repeating words or phrases to help someone understand what he was sharing with them. Bob was always happy, smiling, kind and courteous; had a memory like an elephant and a magnetic personality that could melt hearts. He really enjoyed music. Some of his favorite artists were Elvis, Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks and Reba McEntire, but also loved musicals and just about any music he listened to. Bob loved the staff and co-residents of his residence, Hoard Manor of Residential Opportunities, Inc. He also looked forward to attending Senior Alliance Day Center, his “college”.
