Robert “Bob” M. Maszlewski, 88, of Kalamazoo, Michigan and formerly Detroit’s east side, died in the early hours of December 3rd, 2020, peacefully and in the presence of loved ones. Bob was born on Halloween in Detroit, MI to Stanley and Stella (Czerwinski) Mazslewski in 1932 and was the last of seven siblings. He attended Detroit area schools and was a regular fixture in every neighborhood he resided. Bob and his wife, Dorothy “Dot” were married in August of 1953, and had two daughters, Susan and Nancy. During his 30-year career with GM, he worked his way up from truck driver to supervisor for the Martial Handling Department at the Chevrolet Tech Center in Warren. In 1987, Bob lovingly referred to as “Pops” by his family, retired from GM. He and his wife, Dorothy then moved to Kalamazoo, where he spent his retirement in the joys of grandfather-hood, gardening, hunting, and Michigan sports. He was a collector of nostalgic items and was always up for a celebration. Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy; daughters, Sue (Randy) Copeland and Nancy (Rick) DeMuro; his grandchildren, Aaron (Anne), Ryan (Alexandra), Jessica (James), Marc (Courtney), Robert and Luc; great-grandchildren, Xander and Marie; his brother, John and sister, Irene. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stella and Stanley, his brothers, Max and Joe, and sisters Mary and Martha.
