April 27, 1949 - April 7, 2022

Cremation has taken place and, at Roger’s request, there will be no visitation or memorial service. Instead, friends and loved ones are asked to honor Roger’s memory by being kind, living with courage – even when mud puddles stand in the way – and always saving room for dessert.

I graduated from Loy Norrix with Roger. Although we did not keep in touch, this tribute says it all. What a genuine human being.

Have such a difficult time believing you have now joined Skye, Joyce and John. Too soon, my friend. I can only imagine happy hour has taken on a whole new meaning. You lived a wonderful life making everyone feel good and happy; such a grand undertaking and you did it with ease. Task accomplished. Keep a seat warm, file away the stories to update, and save up some of those laughs to share. Till we meet again.

Words cannot express the hole in my heart since your passing, Roger. I still see your smiling face looking at me every time I came into the shop. You were a dear friend for for almost fifty years. You were one of a kind, a very special person. I think you touched everyone you met in a very special way. I know the angels have taken you home. Til we meet again.

I hadn't heard from you in a bit, and thinking of you...so many losses and changes especially through Covid. We had a few visits, introduced you to Arnold Palmer Lite from the Dollar Tree, you taught me Backgammon and we had a lot of laughs in visits back to Kalamazoo. I was there this past April for a loss and funeral, I thought about you several times, but unable to reach out...thought next time. Well my friend, I'm sorry we didn't have that April visit...many rich memories. I'll never forget you cutting my Dad's hair, you made him feel mighty special. Rest well, at last time to put up your feet.

Rest peacefully my dear friend. You will be missed but never forgotten. I " might" be the record setter for early A.M. appointments. You once accommodated me for a 4:30 appointment. My typical appointment over the nearly 30 years I knew you was 6:30 A.M. (when I was commuting daily to Benton Harbor). I considered you a true friend and always enjoyed the good conversations when I stopped in for appointments.
