Memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2019 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at Kaul Funeral Home 35201 Garfield, Clinton Township MI 48035. A private burial will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maslar Foundation.

Age 61, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 8, 2019. Ron was born in Johnson City, NY, on February 13, 1958, the son of Wilmont Jay and Doloris (Kliment) Winfield. On February 1, 1991, he married Mary Maslar, who survives him. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army for 20 years. After his military service, Ron worked 20 years as a Local 25 Heat and Frost Insulator, spending many years as a Union advocate in many roles including Local Treasurer. He loved cars, motorcycles and home renovation. He was always there when others needed him. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend and loved and was loved by everyone who knew him. He was what most people aren’t but what most people should aspire to be. He never quit. He finished every task he ever started. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Alexander Winfield of Clinton Twp., MI, Jake Winfield of Philadelphia, PA, Jill Winfield of Kalamazoo; his mother, Doloris Winfield of Binghamton, NY; siblings, Roxann Winfield of Binghamton, NY, Linda (Raul) Torres of Newport news, VA, Karen Peaslee of San Antonio, TX, Gordon Winfield of Binghamton, NY, Nancy (Lance) Blandford of Endicott, NY; brothers in law, Carl Maslar of Warren, MI, Bart (Shelly) Maslar of Warren, MI, Eric Maslar of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, Neil Maslar of Fraser, MI; sisters in law, Anne (Hector) Arocho of Oak Park, MI, Laura Maslar of St. Clair Shores, MI; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Walter Winfield; his mother and father in law, Cecelia and Emil Maslar, and a brother in law, Dan Peaslee.
