Age 65, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Jeff was born in Kalamazoo on August 6, 1959, the son of Ronald Lee and Helen (Hall) Hamilton. Jeff attended Kalamazoo and Plainwell Public Schools. He worked for over 30 years as a crane operator at Roberts Steel Erection. Jeff was handier than a shirt pocket. He could fix anything. He was also a great woodworker. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, scuba diving, golfing, football and baseball. He loved motorcycles. Jeff could climb a tree in his 60’s as well as he could when he was a kid. Jeff had a fabulous sense of humor and could imitate anyone and anything. With his artistic side he was able to rhyme words cleverly. Jeff loved animals, especially his own dogs, Doc, Buddy and Bandit. He had a vast knowledge of music and musical instruments. He collected guitars and was a wonderful self-taught guitarist. Jeff was just a good guy who cared about others. He always fought for the underdog. He believed in being fair and had a special affection for the elderly. Jeff is survived by his sisters, L. Elaine Brady and Linda L. Hamilton; nieces, Emily Sandoval, Lillie Hamilton; great-nieces, Eleanora and Genevieve Sandoval; children, Jon Jacobs, Chelsea Rysenga; granddaughter, Jaid Smiley. and countless friends including his girlfriend, Gerri McKibbin. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Londa Hamilton; brother-in-law, Rick Cyr and his former girlfriend, Karen Mitchell.
