Ronald J. Betten

June 27, 1938 - April 23, 2026

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Ron’s life will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Third Christian Reformed Church, 2400 Winchell Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008, with Rev. Ken Baker officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Ron will be laid to rest privately at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Donations may be given to Third Christian Reformed Church’s Ministries Fund, c/o the funeral home.

I am a Fraternity Brother of Ron. We both attended The University of Michigan. We both attended SW Christian and Grand Rapids Christian High School. Although we both knew of each other, we be-cane friends during our life at Phi Alpha Kappa in Ann Arbor. I admired Ron's leadership skills ; he was President of the Fraternity. I send my condolences to the family of Ron. Since I learned of Ron's passing, I think of him often Sincerely, Richard Schripsema

Just heard of Ron's death. Lynn and I had hoped to make the visitation and the funeral. We cannot - prior commitments interfered. Have such great memories of your husband and dad (and grandpa). Always the encourager and usually wearing that quiet smile. In your studies and on the court - You all made him proud ! So sorry we can't be there ! Will remember all of you this funeral week !
