Ron will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan, in a private family graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to Glen Arbor Hospice, in c/o the funeral home.

Age 75, passed away early Saturday morning, April 30, 2022. Ron was born in Kalamazoo, on February 10, 1947, the son of Thomas and Bessie (Dowell) Nelson. Ron was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked for many years as a Lab Technician for Georgia Pacific Paper Company. Ron is survived by his children, Ron (Nancy) Meyer of Portage and Casie Harris of Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Jason Vander Zwaag, Amber Spehar, Kyle Byers, Ashly Place, Zakry Meyer; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Alan (Diane) Nelson, and Roger (Brenda) Nelson; several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
