Age 57. Passed away on October 17, 2022, at Borgess Medical Center. He was born in Kalamazoo on December 14, 1964, the son of the late Rolef and Joan (Hudson) deLeeuw. Ron was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy and returned to make Kalamazoo his home.  He was a very handy man and excelled as a master plumber. He could fix or build nearly anything. His strong mind and will helped him through many challenges in life. Above all Ron loved his family. He enjoyed a memorable trip to Europe with his daughter and always did his best to make time for his grandchildren. Ron’s smile, laughter and strength will be missed. He is survived by his daughter, Jamie deLeeuw; granddaughter, Kaylee deLeeuw; grandson, Gordon deLeeuw-Hill; a brother, Mike deLeeuw; sister, Stacey Dent; many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in passing by his best friend, Stuart Haner. Cremation will take place and private services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice, c/o the funeral home.
