Age 72, passed away Tuesday morning, February 14, 2023. Roy was born in Kalamazoo on July 3, 1950, the son of Stewart and Mary Jean (Brown) Penny. On July 19, 1968, he married Dorothy Barbara “Barb” Brown who preceded him in death in 2018. He worked for many years in waste maintenance in various companies in the Greater Kalamazoo area, where he made many friends. Roy enjoyed putting together model cars. He also liked watching television. Most of his time was spent taking care of beloved Barb. Nothing was more important to him than his family. Roy is survived by his children, Matthew Noteboom, Ann (Dave) Weeks, Roy (Carla Breton) Penny Jr., Victor Penny and Mary Freiberg; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Art Penny; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Stewart and George.
