Age 77, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 14, 2022. Russ was born in Kalamazoo, on October 16, 1945, the son of Edward and Bernice (Comstock) Adams. Russ was always interested in the lives of his children and that included being a Little League coach. For many years he was a driver for Yellow Cab in Kalamazoo. Later he worked at Borgess Hospital delivering medical supplies. Anyone who knew him, knew where to find him on the weekends during the summer. He was an avid fisherman, and a huge race fan. He not only enjoyed watching the cars race but enjoyed building them as well. Russ was a longtime devoted Lion’s fan. Everyone who knew him, loved him. He will be greatly missed by his family and they already have a huge hole in their hearts. Russ is survived by his daughters, Kelly (Mike Miller) Adams of Vicksburg, Jennifer (David Frost) Cook of Mesa, AZ, and Joanie (Jaime) Gamez of Schoolcraft; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce VanDuinen of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews and countless friends, including long-time friends Chris (Lisa) Breneman, his former wife, Lynn Adams, his Comstock Tower family and his Plum Crazy racing family. Russ was preceded in death by his parents; a son Jamie Adams; sister, Marjorie Cronkhite; brother Ronald Adams; his step-father, Glenn Irons.
