As per Ruth's final requests, there will be no funeral or memorial services, but a request to just remember her for who she was: a great wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend; to remember her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and quirky spirit with sarcasm and humor. Ruth will be laid to rest with her parents and family up north.

Ruth Hansel Ewing passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, MI at the age of 72, on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. Ruth was born October 29th, 1949, in Detroit, MI to Ralph W. and Virginia M (Barnefske) Hansel.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Ralph W. Hansel III and sister, Sheree Hansel. Ruth is survived by her husband, Jeffery “JR” Richard Ewing; her two younger sisters, Mary Hansel and Sally Hansel and two children, Jaime-Renée “Kittie” Ewing and Joseph “Joe” Richard Ewing; as well as her three Spiritual Sons, Justin, James and Chucky and her Spiritual daughter and niece, Annastasia Marie (Edwards) Reed.
