Age 92, died in the early hours of July 13, at Brookdale of Portage. Born in Arkansas in 1925 to John L. and Fairy Ruth (West) Whitney, she was a true member of the greatest generation who lived in the Kalamazoo area for more than 70 years. Beginning with her retirement from the Sveden House restaurant in 1988, Mrs. Goff spent winters in Naples, Florida where she enjoyed painting and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glavis Goff, three of her seven children, Michael Wayne, John “Sunny” and James, two brothers, Otis Whitney and John “Whit” Whitney, two sisters, Fay Pogue and Ellie Mae Loggins, granddaughters Charlotte Goff and Ginger Goff. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Crowe (Michael, d. 2009), sons Bob Goff, David “Tom” Goff, and Sam Goff, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as daughters in law, Pat Goff-Buckert, Evelyn Goff and Alma Jeanette Goff. She was an artist and an inspiration. We miss her already.
