Age 73, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at her home following a long illness. Susan was born in Kalamazoo, in 1946, the daughter of Anthony and Myra (Phetteplace) Lemmer. She was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Portage Central High School and attended Elkhart Institute of Technology to become a dental assistant. She attended KVCC and graduated with honors with a degree in dental hygiene, a job she loved which gave her great pride. She also graduated from Western Michigan University cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Studies. Susan had a life-long love of animals and most recently her dog, Zoey and horse, Izzy. Susan was a wonderful and loving wife and mother. She loved and was always devoted to her family. She is greatly loved and will be missed always. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Howard Harden; her son, Timothy (Meghan) Harden of Portage; siblings, Nancy Burchette of Portage, Christopher (Lolita) Lemmer of Ohio, and Scott (Lynn) Lemmer of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
