Sylvia J. DeVries

May 22, 1927 - May 29, 2021

A private memorial will be held at Joldersma Klein Funeral Home for immediate family only and she will be interred at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Much gratitude is offered to Faith Hospice of Grand Rapids for their invaluable help in preparing our mom for her next big adventure. Their kind, gentle, loving care was such a support to us.    Philippians  4:4-7 “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

My mom, Athena (Georgiou) MacKellar worked with Sylvia at Bell Telephone if I recall correctly. During the 70's Sylvia worked for a glass company and I remember somewhere seeing her artist talents. May the memories of happier times help ease the pain of her passing. Condolences, Kim MacKellar

Dear Lorri, Don, Joan and Dan. So sorry for all of you in the loss of your mom. She was a special lady and will be missed. So many memories of growing up down the street from you!
