Tamara Jane Blackmer “Tammy” went home to be with Jesus on May 2nd, 2021 at age 51. Tammy was born to Jack Blackmer and Judy Blackmer on January 7th, 1970 in Kalamazoo Michigan. Her Father Jack survives her, her Mother predeceased her in 2008. Tammy shared a birthday with her Twin Sister Amy. As a child she enjoyed playing “House” with her sister a lot and invented a game called “Triangle” with her brother David who is two years older than her. She enjoyed playing outside and helped to raise many animals through 4H including Rabbits, Goats, Chickens, also her two Dogs and especially Cats! She did well in school and was a cheerleader for a short time and graduated in 1988. Tammy went on to become a Kalamazoo Valley Community College Alumni graduating in 2004 with an Associates in Arts. She worked at a daycare for a few years and really enjoyed working with kids. Tammy was a thoughtful loving sister and a doting aunt. She just adored her two nephews, Matthew, and Eric and one niece Emma. Tammy was always buying little things as thoughtful gifts for everyone. She never missed a birthday or a Christmas greeting. She had quite a sense of humor and you could always depend on her for a great laugh. Tammy adored cats and talked about her cats often. As a child she had Mauna and moved on into her adulthood with Shea, Trevor, and Kaiser respectively. In addition, she loved Amy’s cat, Adahline, David’s cat, Rosie, buying things for them and sending birthday and well wishes to them via text. She thoroughly spoiled all these “Kitties.” As a family we always enjoyed “Monthly Errand Day” which we did for many years! In the past year we started having a pizza party at her apartment to wrap up “Errand Day”. This is one of our most recent favorite memories. It is with great sadness in our hearts we say we love you Tammy and goodbye for now till we meet again together in Heaven someday.
