Age 72, passed away at Ascension Borgess Hospital on January 23, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Terry was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on March 28, 1949, the son of the late Clifton and Marie (Kinser) Payne. After graduating high school Terry enlisted in and served our country in the U.S. Navy. After being honorably discharged he returned to make southwest Michigan his home. On October 28, 1972, he married Frances (Keckler) Payne. Terry was a hard worker and retired from Hydro Aluminum.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to take his family camping and enjoyed many trips to Mackinaw. He also enjoyed vacationing in Tennessee and the Gulf Coast. His family will always remember his famous Chex Mix and no bake cookies! Terry enjoyed giving and helping others. He was a member of the Salvation Army Band where he played the saxophone. Above all Terry loved his family and his friends. His kind smile and laughter will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Henry (Chris) Payne, Scott (Michele) Payne, Terry (Vickey) Payne, John (Shari) Keckler, Paul Walls, Robert (Brad) Walls; grandchildren, Hailey, Austin, Makenzie, Kaleb, Jakob, Kennedy, Scotty, Connor, Miley, Kaley, Bethaney, Thomas, Terry, Bambi, Amy, Kaye, Eric, Kevin, Skylar, Crystal, and Korie; great-grandchildren, Carson, Dawson, and 23 others.  Terry also leaves behind his special friends, Barbara Johnson and Randy (Maranda) Coon and many other family and friends. He was preceded in passing by his wife Frances Payne on June 28, 2009; also, his brother, Mel Payne; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Walls; granddaughter, Paula Wall and grandson, Joshua.
