Thomas Lee Levenske, age 81, of Kalamazoo passed away at Centrica Rose Arbor Place on May 24, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Traverse City on June 26, 1944, the son of the late Julius and Rose (Fluhrer) Levenske. Tom was a kind, loving and generous man who was a joy to know. He graduated from St. Francis High School in Traverse City, received an associate’s degree and began working for Stryker where he would remain until retiring after more than forty years. On November 5, 1977, he married the love of his life Valarie (Schuster) Levenske who he met while on a bowling league. The two would make their home in Kalamazoo and begin a family. Tom was a loyal husband, loving father, proud grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. His family was the joy of his life, and he was happiest when all were gathered together. Tom had a strong faith in the Lord and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church where he will be missed. He had many passions and hobbies. Was a loyal Detroit Tigers and Lions fan, followed WMU Bronco athletics. He also enjoyed puzzle books, bowling and eating out with family and friends. Tom’s warm smile and genuine spirit will be missed by all who know him and he leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. He is survived by his wife Valarie; daughters, Jennifer (Derek) Nakashima, Michelle (Ron) Dellar; six grandchildren, Jasmyn (Dylan) Eyer, Jocelyn and Janelle Gettelman (twins), Kyle Nuyen, McKenzie and Connor Nuyen (twins); great-granddaughter, Isabella Eyer; sisters, Judy Barrons and Nancy Stewart; nephews, Brian and Joel Thoreson; niece, Jennifer Bramer; many extended family and friends. He was also preceded in passing by an infant brother, Arnold Levenske.
