A graveside committal service will take place at Almena Cemetery on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM. The family will greet guests at the cemetery beginning at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of one’s choice.

Age 71, passed away at home on Friday, March 26, 2021. Tom was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on May 9, 1949, the son of the late Leon R. and Wanda L. (Williamson) Labadie. He attended Edison Elementary, Milwood Junior High and graduated from Loy Norrix High School. Tom later attended the Police Academy at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He served on the Van Buren County EMT Unit when Frank Thompson setup the TAC. Tom also served as a volunteer firefighter. He worked for many years on the Marine Patrol Division of Van Buren County Sherriff’s Department and later worked for the Paw Paw, Mattawan and Lawton Police Departments. Tom retried from the security department at Bronson Hospital after 20 years of employment. He was an avid bowler and loved to fish and hunt. Tom also enjoyed the Tigers Ball Club and especially loved going on adventures with his grandchildren all over the U.S. On May 11, 1968, Tom married the love of his life, the former Sharon A. Jokela, who survives. He is also survived by his daughters, Michele (Brad) Dunlap and Julie Labadie; grandchildren, Justine (Michael) Campbell, Connor Gregory and Nickoles Labadie; four great-grandchildren, Leyna, Madison, Jordyn and Quinn; brother, James (Patty) Labadie; sisters in-law, Judy and Nancy Labadie; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his bothers, Douglas and Jerry Labadie; and sister, Sally (Clinton) Clarke.
