Age 58, passed away at South Bend Memorial on March 3, 2024. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on March 15, 1965, the son of Donald and Carolyn (Taylor) Reits. He grew up in the Mattawan area and graduated from Mattawan High School Class of 1983. Todd was athletic and excelled at many sports, especially baseball. After graduating he played baseball at KVCC and Aquinas College. His love of sports would stay with him, and he became a loyal member of the Notre Dame fan base. Some of his fondest memories were made on campus during game day, tailgating with family and friends and cheering on The Irish! His greatest love and joy was for his family. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed making memories during family vacations when the children were young or packing them up for the adventure of a camping trip. Recently, Todd began to discover the truth and beauty of his Catholic faith with a genuine desire to seek and to understand.  Todd’s laughter, smile, and joy will be missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his wife Rebecca “Becky” Reits, their four children, Alexandra (Kristopher) Chlebek, Krista (Jacob) Boone, Brian (Abby) Reits, Danielle (Michael) Klein; grandchildren, Joseph, Benjamin, Jude, Blaise, Magdalaina, Caeli and Ruth; his mother, Carolyn Reits; siblings, Kurt Reits and Michele Reits; nieces, nephews, extended family. He was preceded in passing by his father, Donald Reits.
