Burial Date February 11, 2025
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am, at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church at 507 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49007, with Rev. Fr. Bryce Buffenbarger officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 am, one hour prior to the service. Interment in Riverside Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, or your favorite charity in her name.

Demetra (Toula) Dussias (nee Fotopoulos) passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at her home. Demetra was born in Vrina, Greece, July 6, 1930, to the late Amalia and Anastasios Fotopoulos. In 1961 she married Peter J. Dussias, her beloved husband who preceded her in death on July 4, 2008. They moved to Kalamazoo and became long-time restauranteurs. Demetra was the loving and adoring mother to Maria (Roberto) Cuevas, Demetri Dussias and Dino (Edyta) Dussias; proud and loving grandmother to Christina Cuevas, Sophia Dussias and Zoe Dussias. Also surviving are her brothers, Chris (Barbara) Fotopoulos and Peter Fotopoulos; many cousins, nieces and nephews who will deeply miss her. She was also preceded in passing by her sister, Evgenia Fotopoulos and brothers John Fotopoulos and Kosta Fotopoulos. Her family will forever cherish her unconditional love, faith, wisdom, humor, work ethic and heart. May her memory be eternal.
