A celebration of Valdis' life will be held on August 12, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the Latvian Neighborhood Pavilion ("Ciems"), located at the corner of Day Road and Zemgale Road in Three Rivers, Michigan. A brief ceremony will take place and light refreshments will be served. Memorial contributions may be given to Latvian Center Garazers Center of Three Rivers, or Evangelical Latvian Church of Kalamazoo.

Age 55, passed away early Friday morning, December 23, 2022. Val was born in Flint, MI, on May 4, 1967, the son of Andrejs and Ruta (Krinte) Rozentals. Val was a handy guy and enjoyed working on and building his home. He was proud of his Lativan heritage and was active in the local Latvian community. He loved animals, especially retired service dogs that he would take in to shelter. Val was a kind and loving person and was always willing to help anyone in need, even if he didn’t always have the capacity to do so. Val is survived by his daughter, Lidija (Aija Rozentals) Lillie of Chicago, IL; mother, Ruta Rozentals of Three Rivers; sister, Andra Rozentals; sister-in-law, Liga Rozentals; aunt, Dzidra Apsite; nieces, Zinaida, Zile; nephew, Andrejs; several cousins; and many friends, including his canine companion, Diesel. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Gunars Juris Rozentals.
