A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, beginning at 12:00 p.m. (noon) in the chapel at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South, 3941 S Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49008.

I am one of the women featured in the book, Kalamazoo Gals. I remember the book signing tea fondly. It was wonderful to meet Velura and the other ladies.

An amazing and dedicated woman for sure. Spent countless evenings, afternoons, summers and winters just watching the Soaps with grandma and working in the yard. May you finally be at peace.
