A memorial gathering will take place at Joldersma & Klein Fuenral Home on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Private inurnment with military honors will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice, c/o the funeral home.

Age 66, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018. Walt was born in Paw Paw, Michigan on August 15, 1951, the son of the late Ernest and Virginia (Bollinger) Chingo. In addition to his parents, Walt was preceded in death by three brothers. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Walt was an avid coin collector and was a life-long member of the American Legion Post, NRA and Kalamazoo Rod & Gun. On December 24, 1975, he was united in marriage to the former Martha “Marti” I. VanderBerg who survives. Walt is also survived by his children, Travis, Amanda and Tyler Chingo and brother, Steve Chingo.
