Burial with military honors will be at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park – South. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Age 87, passed away on Thursday December 22, 2016. Walt was born on June 15, 1929 and raised in Ashburn Georgia; the son of the late John and Magular (Oliver) Blue. He retired from GM-Kalamazoo in 1987. Walt was also a Korean Veteran serving our great nation. He was a nationally known collector of antique lures and once possessed one of the country’s largest collections of famous Heddon Lures; some dating back to 1896. In addition to his vast collection, Walt served as a technical advisor to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. He was a member of the National Fishing Lure Collectors Club (NFLCC) and a contributing editor to Lure Collectors Magazine. On November 25, 1953 he married the love of his life, Barbara (Shultz) Blue who preceded him in death on October 24, 2016 after 62 years of marriage. Walt is survived by his children, Kevin (Hayni) Blue, Kathe (Chuck) Hetter, Caryl (Tim) Bartholomew; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Walt was preceded in death by his siblings, John Blue, Charles Blue and Cora Blue.
