Age 20, passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2023. Caleb was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on November 1, 2002, the son of Shane and Shannon (Friedman) Thompson. He attended Mattawan Schools through middle school, then transferred to Portage Central High School where he earned his varsity letter his freshman year. Caleb transferred to Camden Military Academy, in South Carolina, midway through his sophomore year, where he took some college classes, earned more varsity letters and was MVP for his Cross-Country team. Caleb worked as a Shift Manager at McDonalds and was planning to further his education to become a nutritionist. He was an avid runner and enjoyed skiing. Caleb loved spending time with his family and friends and learning to work on cars. Anyone who knew Caleb also knew his love for debate. Caleb was baptized at Radiant Church in 2012. Besides his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Alexandra and Lauren; his grandparents, Barry and Carol Thompson and Brenda Magierka; aunts and uncles, Tasha Thompson, Danielle (Chris) Hickmott, Tim (Rachel) Magierka, Steve Davidson, Ken (Sue) Davidson and Jeff (Jodi) Davidson; great-aunts and uncles, Karyl Burton, Nancy (Tom) Bowers and Robert (Kim) Miller; as well as many cousins and friends. Caleb was preceded in death by his grandparents, Greg Magierka and Vicki Arntz and great-grandparents, Russell and Evelyn Gould and Wesley and Myrtle Thompson. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Radiant Church, 8157 East DE Ave., Richland, MI 49083, on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 6:00 PM with Pastor Lee Cummings officiating.
