Age 77, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday evening, January 14, 2022. Carol was born in Kalamazoo, on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1944, the daughter of Ernest and Elda (Setter) Hiscock. On January 4, 1964, she married Ray Veat Patterson who preceded her in death on December 17, 2020.  Carol worked at a flower shop where her love and knowledge about flowers grew.  This knowledge helped her to plant the most beautiful gardens.   Her servant heart led her to many places where she cared for her community.  She would serve at the food pantry, “Love Thy Neighbor” or the locals churches. During Christmas, her favorite holiday, it was fun to come to her house where you could smell pine scented candles, cookies baking and the numerous batches of Chex mix. You would see Christmas throughout the house where the kids loved going from room to room seeing how Grandma decorated from year to year. She would make a delicious meal and even her table was impeccably decorated.  She especially loved spending time with her family, watching her grandkids play sports, traveling the country with her husband in their “Roadtrek”.  Carol is survived by her children, Penny (Tim) Born of Battle Creek, Lisa (Tim) Kellam of Augusta, Brian (Kim) Patterson of Galesburg; grandchildren, Amber (Ben), Nicole (Paul), Jordan (Noelle), Ben, Tyler, Emma (Wyatt), Allie (Carson), Blake and Trevor; great-grandchildren, Eli, Payton and Felicity; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and countless friends. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Max, Hiscock.
