An Open House event commemorating Joe’s life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Northwood Fire Station, 2617 North Burdick Street (at Mosel), Kalamazoo, 49007. Interment will be at Mount Ever Rest Memorial Park North. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o the funeral home.

Daniel “Joe” Pore of Galesburg, Age 48, passed away on May 23, 2019. Joe was born on October 27, 1970, the son of Daniel Pore and Lana (Morris) Walker in Kalamazoo. He worked for many years as a forklift driver at Pepsi Bottling Group. Joe was an avid fisherman. He made the best biscuits and sausage gravy in town. Joe was a loving father to his children, Dustin Pore of Parchment and Kaylee (Mike Foy) Pore of Parchment; Besides Dustin and Kaylee, he is survived by his grandchildren, Kaden Pore and Brynlee Foy, who he loved to pieces; his father, Daniel Pore of Kalamazoo; step-father, Jim Walker of Kalamazoo; siblings, Dave (Mendy) Witt, Missy Witt and Robert Witt; aunt, Norine (Joe) Calhoun; several nieces and nephews and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Lana Walker, and his grandparents, including a special grandmother, Eleanor Matheny.
