A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at Lawton Evangelical Church, 425 S. Nursery St., Lawton. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice, c/o the funeral home. The family would like to thank Wings of Hope Hospice for their loving care.

Age 64, passed away on Friday evening, June 18, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. Janet was born on February 23, 1957, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Thomas N. and Mona L. (Braspenninx) Courtade. On July 23, 2020, she married Rick Rice who survives her. Janet enjoyed sewing, gardening, camping and traveling. Mostly, she enjoyed doing crafts and goofing off with her grandkids. Janet was a believer in the Lord Jesus and loved sharing her faith with others. Janet was a kid at heart and she brought joy to others with her infectious smile. Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Jake (Jaime) Pursley of Paw Paw, Nate (Wendy) Pursley of Lawton, and Bonnie (Ben) Fleckenstein of Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren, Luke Pursley, Lauren Pursley, Rachel Pursley, Claire Pursley, Travis Pursley, Audrey Fleckenstein and James Fleckenstein; siblings, Kay (Linus) Schwartz, Tom (Joyce) Courtade, Ruth Courtade, Andy (MaryBeth) Courtade, Lisa Courtade; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
