Age 29, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer; his family was by his side. Max was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 29, 1992. He was a kind and humble man who impacted many lives. He remained positive until the end and was always more concerned about his family’s well-being over his own. Max loved the outdoors and was known as “Bugs” because of his love for insects. He enjoyed cooking, science and had a passion for playing video games. Max also loved his cat, Macaroni. He is survived by his mother, Diane Scafaria; father, Todd (Pam) Sikkema; sister, Kari Holly; brothers, Keegan (Danielle) Orr, Matt (Kelsea) Sikkema and Bradley Sikkema; nephew, Roan Orr and many step-siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him very much. A celebration of Max’s life will take place at Technical Packaging Systems, 6389 Valley Industrial Dr., Kalamazoo, MI 49009, on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 12:20 to 4:20 PM, with an informal ceremony beginning at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society.
